Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2017!

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Class for the  Pre-Intermediate and Elementary Students  on the 8th of November.
At the beginning of our class in terms of the Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2017.
At the begining of the lesson our visitors watched and discussed video "Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2017: Message from Ms Irina Bokova" where the Director-General of UNESCO notes that more people have access to information than ever before. This opens up vast new horizons, to create and share knowledge, to exchange, to deepen dialogue. It also raises challenges to empower women and men to make the most of new opportunities for the benefit of all, based on human rights. She says that the key lies in critical thinking, and this is why media and information literacy, and this Global Media and Information Literacy Week, are so important. UNESCO’s Global Media and Information Literacy Week is the moment to raise this flag across the world, under the theme of “Media and Information Literacy in Critical Times: Re-imagining Ways of Learning and Information Environments.” This has never been so vital.
Moreover,  our students shared their experience they had with media. They were also shown the course "English for media literacy" and invited to take it.
In addition, our students were repeating the material on the Future Simple Tense and "to be going to" construction. We also checked our hometask.
Our leader was Nastia O. and there were 15 students present.
