English Speaking Club

On the 9th of July at the Mykolaiv WoA was the English Speaking Club!

Our leader Olia Ch. who is a FLEX-program alumna and currently working at the school with intensive English learning # 22 proposed our visitors to talk about independence in different spheres of their life, including relationships and families. At the very beginning of the meeting Olha proposed the participants to think what colors, nouns, and verbs are associated for them with independence. She also asked to find its connection with the choice. 

We had 13 participants of the club. :)

English Class for beginners!

On the 6th of July in the Mykolaiv WoA was the English Class for beginners! 

Our students told us about their last week. 
Then they listened to the song called "Summer time" and learned some words and phrases. 
After that we had a listening task dedicated to changinf weather and played "Guess what".

 

English Game Session!

On the 6th of June at the Mykolaiv WoA was the English Game Session! 
Our vivsitors were playing «Bananagrams», «Guess what» and «Pictionary».
Our leader was Anastassia O. 

We`ve had 6 players today! :)

English Class for beginers

On the 5th of July in the Mykolaiv WoA was the English Class! 

Our students told us about their celebrations of the 4th of July. 

Then they listened to the song of Lana Del Ray called "Summertime Sadness" and learned some new phrases. 

After that we had a listening task dedicated to poetry. So, at the end of our class we listened to a reciting of a funny poem written by Steve Attewell "Once, I Laughed My Socks Off".

Independence Day of the USA

On the 4th of July the Mykolaiv WoA had an event that was dedicated to the celebration of the Independence Day of the USA.

This event was organized by the city representative of the FLEX-program and our volunteer Eduarda Fediukova.

Our visitors watched a video with the speech of the US Ambassador in Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, where she congtatulated people with Independence Day 2017.

After that Eduarda showed a short video and told about way the US to Independence. Also she conducted a very interesting quize for two teams on the knowledge of different facts about the United States. The team, which won, got the presents from the Mykolaiv Window on America Center.

Moreover, our visitors took part in the сontest on the best presentation of their costumes (they were depicting different famous Americans, such as Minnie Mouse, Barbie, Cowboy, Soldier Jane, Leia Organa Solo, Audrey Hepburn  and Marilyn Monroe). Our winner aslo got the present from Mykolaiv Window on America Center.

We had 26 participants.

English Speaking Club

On the 2nd of July at the Mykolaiv WoA was the English Speaking Club. 
Our topic was - "Abstract art Reflects Your Personality". 
Our good friend Brad Bannister was our leader. 
We had 21 .participants.
