English Class for the Beginners!

Mykolaiv WoA had the English Class for the Beginners students on the 28th of September. 

In the begining of the lesson we checked a hometask. After that students studied the Passive Voice and had an interesting exercise with describing their favorite photos. It appeared to be a really sweet exercise! Everybody was happy to share with their pleasant memories. 

 Larysa S. was our leader was and there were 17 students.

English Game Session

On the 14th of September at the Mykolav Window on America Center was the English Game Session! 
At first everybody was writing 3 facts about themselves. Then all the notes were mixed and the participants had to guess who those facts were written about! :) 
Being divided into two teams, the players had to create adjectives starting with each letter of the ABC.
After that the teams were coming up with as many facts about bananas as possible! :)
At the end of the session the participants got different situation to show with their bodies and facial expressions so that the audience could guess.

English Class for Beginners

On the 14th of September at the Mykolaiv Window on America Center was the English Class for Beginners.
Our class started with poems by heart about autumn.
Then we repeated the grammar topic : " Present Simple VS. Present Continuous" and were describing pictures using these tense.
At the end of our class we watched to videos. One of them was about the Donuts Boy who brings donuts to the policemen and the second one about the man that built tuny houses for homeless.
Larysa S. was our leader and we had 17 participants.

English Movie Club

On the 13th of September at the Mykolaiv WoA was the English Movie Club!
Our leader was Vadim P. and we were watching the movie "The Killing".

  

English Class for the Intermediate/Pre-Intermediate Students

On the 13th of September at the Mykolaiv WoA was the English Class for the Intermediate/Pre-Intermediate Students.
Our class started with checking the text about Coca-Cola which our students were supposed to read at home. 
Then we repeated the grammar topic : " Present Simple VS. Present Continuous" and were describing pictures using these tense.
At the end of our class we watched to videos. One of them was about the Donuts Boy who brings donuts to the policemen and the second one about the senior dogs who cure the senior people.

Our leader was Nastia O. and we had 13 participants.

English Mafia Party!

This year we are celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the U. S.- Ukraine Diplomatic Relations. Our Center supports this partnerships and offers lots of different events!

On the 12th of September Mykolaiv Window on America Center had English Mafia Party with our good American friend and volunteer Thomas R.

We had 14 participants!

Основи академічної доброчесності та боротьби з плагіатом Тренінг

12 вересня у рамках Дня обласної бібліотеки координатор центру «Вікно в Америку» провела тренінг «Основи академічної доброчесності та боротьби з плагіатом». 

Захід відбувся у рамках проекту «Культура академічної доброчесності: роль бібліотек», що реалізується в Україні з 2016 р. за підтримки Посольства США в Україні та Української бібліотечної асоціації. Учасниками тренінгу були викладачі та студенти факультету менеджменту і бізнесу ВП «Миколаївська філія Київського національного університету культури і мистецтв», факультету бібліотечних дисциплін та діловодства Миколаївського коледжу культури і мистецтв. 

Під час тренінгу учасники дізналися про поняття та правові засади академічної доброчесності та плагіату, безкоштовне та комерційне програмне забезпечення для перевірки текстів на плагіат, міжнародні стилі посилання та цитування у наукових роботах, тощо. Також вони обговорили можливі шляхи боротьби з плагіатом та основні положення «Кодексу честі» американських та українських університетів.

Презентація ресурсів та послуг Центру та знайомство з виставкою!

12 вересня 2017 р. студенти Миколаївської філії Київського національного університету культури і мистецтв та Миколаївського коледжу культури і мистецтв  ознайомилися з ресурсами та послугами Центру та з «мандруючою виставкою» «Публічна бібліотека: фотоесе Роберта Доусона» від Американського дому (м. Київ).
