English Class for Kids

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Class for Kids on the 20th of January.

At the beginning of the lesson children reapeted words from previous topic "School supplies"

After that they learned new phrases and words relaited to the topic "House". Also they played interesting games "What is missing", "Word ball" and others.

Veronika, student from Foreign Philology Department of Mykolaiv National Universsity named after V. Suchomlynskyi was a leader and 13 children took part in this lesson.

English Movie Club

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Movie Club on the 16th of January. 
Our visitors were watching  and discussing a 2000 American romantic drama film based on the novel of the same name by Catherine Ryan Hyde. It is set in Las Vegas, and it chronicles 12-year-old Trevor McKinney's launch of a goodwill movement known as 'pay it forward'. Directed by Mimi Leder and written by Leslie Dixon, it stars Haley Joel Osment as Trevor, Helen Hunt as his alcoholic single mother Arlene McKinney, and Kevin Spacey as his physically and emotionally scarred social studies teacher Eugene Simonet.
The film was released on October 20, 2000 to mixed reviews, with most critics praising the acting, writing, music and cinematography but criticizing the story and accusing it of excessive emotional manipulation, particularly in its ending.

English Class for Beginners

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Class for Beginners class on the 16th of January. 
At the beginning of the lesson our students watched and discussed a short video was about Martin Luther King Jr.
Also that they read and translated a text was also about him.
After that students learned new words and phases relaited to the topic "Winter", worked in 3 groups and created different types of sentenses.
Larysa was a leader and 13 people took part in this lesson.

English Mafia Party

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Mafia Party on the 15th of Januaryr with our good American friend and volunteer Thomas R.
If you like to play games and to practice English - this game is  for you!

English Class for Beginners

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Class for Beginners on the 15th of January. 

At the beginig of the lesson our students told about spending the

holidays.

After that participants worked is group and created different types of 

sentenses.

Also they repeated rules of usage Present Simple and did a lot of

grammar exercises.  

Larysa was a leader and 14  people took part in this lesson.

English Speaking Club

Mykolaiv Window on America Center held a regular English Speaking Club on the 13th of January. 

Our visitirs discussed the topic "Holidays and food” with a leader, FLEX alunmi Olga Ch. 

At the begining of the event our visitors played "True or false".
After that, the participants talked what dishes they traditionally to cook for the holidays. 
Also they tried to guess the country by the picture on the screen. Many pictures reflected traditional dishes from different states of the USA, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Italy and others.
Visitors shared  recipes of their favorite New Year and Christmas food.
Also they watched a short video and discissed how to cook before holidays without stress.
20  people took part in this event!
