Educational and grants opportunities

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the meeting with Inna Zdor, Cultural Affairs Assistant of  the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine on the 21st of November. 

Inna presented educational and grants opportunities for graduates of American programs and ukrainians.

English Class for Beginners

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Class for Beginners on the 21st of November. 

At the beginig of the lesson our students played game "5 words"

After that they continued to learn words and phrases relelated to the 

topic "Airport".

Also they  watched and discussed few videos. 

Nasiba Sh. was a leader and 18 people took part in this lesson.

English Mafia party

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Mafia Party on the 20th of November with our good American friend and volunteer Thomas R.
If you like to play games and to practice English - this game is  for you!

English Class for Beginners

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Class for Beginners on the 20th of November. 

At the beginig of the lesson our students introduced themselve
аnd reapeted greetings words.

After that students continued studing of usage possessive pronouns

and its cases and did a lot of grammar exercises related to the 

topic. Also they played interesting games.

Larysa was a leader and 21  people took part in this lesson.

English Class for Kids

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Class for Kids on the 18th of November.

At the begining of the lesson children told about themselves and said each other hello. 

After that they start to learn a new topic "Clothes". 

Children learned new words which dedicated to the topic and played interesting games "Ball game", "Broken phone". Also they had dialogues with each other.  

Veronica and Tatyana, students from Foreign Philology Department of Mykolaiv National Universsity named after V. Suchomlynskyi were leaders and 14 children 

took part in this lesson.

English Speaking Club

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Speaking Club оn the18th of November.

Together with our leader Polina visitors discussed a topic "Environment".

They discussed the following questions:

- What environmental problems do we have? Whose fault is that? Who should be responsible for the environmental problems and take action to solve them?;

- What is global warming? Is it a myth or nowadays reality? What are the reasons for global warming and what are the consequences of it? What can we do and what can the government do concerning this problem?;

- What are the kinds and sources of pollution? What are the negative effects of pollution? How come people want to live in the clean world but they still litter? How would you react if some fines and penalties for littering were introduced? How different countries try to solve the problem of pollution?;

- What are the 3R's in solid waste management? What does each of this world mean? Do you live according to these principles.

English Movie Club

Mykolaiv Window on America Center had the English Movie Club on the 14th of November.
This event was dedicated to International Day for Tolerance and our visitors were watching  and discussing  a 2008 British American historical drama film "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" 

set in World War II, based on John Boyne’s 2006 novel of the same name. It was written and Directed by Mark Herman, produced by BBC Films and Heyday Films, and distributed by Miramax. 

Vera Farmiga, David Thewlis, Asa Butterfield, and Jack Scanlon are the film stars 

The Holocaust drama relates the horror of a World War II Nazi extermination camp through the eyes of two 8-year-old boys; Bruno (Asa Butterfield), the son of the camp's Nazi commandant, and Shmuel (Jack Scanlon), a Jewish inmate.
